The difference between compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer

2023-04-14

The fertilizer granulator combines a variety of nutrients into solid particles, also known as fertilizer granules, which are divided into compound fertilizers and organic fertilizers. Fertilizer granules are relatively strong, dust-free, uniform in size, low in hygroscopicity, and easy to store and apply.

Compound fertilizer refers to a fertilizer that is processed by the NPK fertilizer production line and contains at least two of the three nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Organic fertilizers refer to microorganisms and organic substances with specific functions that are mainly derived from animal and plant residues (such as livestock and poultry manure, crop straw, etc.), and are produced after harmless treatment and decomposition. Those that use organic matter (compounds containing carbon) as fertilizers are called organic fertilizers.

1. Different functions: Organic fertilizers contain a large amount of organic matter and beneficial microorganisms. On the one hand, they can provide various active substances for plants, and on the other hand, they can improve the soil environment. Compound fertilizers can only provide inorganic nutrients.

2. The content of organic matter is different: organic fertilizer contains a large amount of biological organic matter, and compound fertilizer contains 2 or more nutrients. The nutrient distribution ratio of compound fertilizer is relatively fixed, and it is difficult to meet the different requirements of various soils and crops.

3. Different nutrients: organic fertilizers contain a variety of nutrients, and the nutrients contained are fully balanced, while compound fertilizers contain a single type of nutrients, and long-term application may easily cause nutrient imbalances in crops. However, the location and release speed of nutrients in compound fertilizers are difficult to fully meet the special requirements of crops for nutrients in a certain period of time.

Organic fertilizers are completely harmless to plant growth, but the effect is slower than compound fertilizers. The combination of the two is more beneficial to the plant.
